1931 – 2014

PARIS — Normand G. Poulin, 82, passed away on Saturday, July 19, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, with his devoted companion by his side.

He was born in Auburn on Nov. 12, 1931, a son of the late Joseph D. and Laura Dionne Poulin. He was a proud veteran, serving his country in the armed forces between 1953 and 1962, and then as a reservist in the National Guard, until 1986.

He worked as a maintenance man for the city of Lewiston in the Public Works Department for over 20 years. He was married in March 1981 to Evelyn Bickford Thorne, who predeceased him in December 2002.

Normand loved to tinker with tools, work on puzzles and listen to music, but mostly, he loved to dance.

He is survived by a devoted companion, June McGinley, of Poland; a brother, Roger A. Poulin, of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, in 2002; a sister, Muriel Montreuil; and two brothers, Lionel and Jean Poulin.

Friends and family would like to thank the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris for their special care of Normand these past 18 months.
