LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating the theft of an undisclosed amount of money and personal items from the First Baptist Church on Church Street.

Entry was gained through the back door of the church, and an office was rummaged through, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Thursday.

The burglary occurred between 7:40 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, he said. It was reported by a minister at 8:43 a.m. Thursday.

Evidence was collected from the scene and will be taken to the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory for DNA analysis, Steward said.
