LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Lionel E. Bergeron was celebrated by the Rev. Aaron Damboise on Friday morning, July 25, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.
During the Mass, Lionel’s nephew, Robert Poissonier, and grandnephew, Evan Bourassa, read from the New Testament. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by his grandnephew, Evan Bourassa. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Lionel’s three nieces, Joan Poissonier, Rolande Wing and Constance Morin.
Following a funeral procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Damboise recited committal prayers, after which the U.S. Army Honor Detail played taps and presented our country’s flag to Lionel’s wife, Jeannette, in recognition of her husband’s faithful service to his country during the Korean Conflict. The bearers were Luke and Evan Bourassa, Richard and Roland Bazinet, Leo Bergeron and Donald Dufour.
At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to Lionel and Jeannette’s home in Lewiston for a reception of fellowship. Arrangements were by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston.
