INDUSTRY — A Massachusetts teenager was injured Wednesday afternoon in tubing accident on Clearwater Pond.
James McCleery, 17, of Sutton, Mass., was on a tube being towed by a boat when his knee hit his left eye causing a laceration above the eye, Sgt. Scott Thrasher of the Maine Warden Service said.
Industry Fire Department first responders and an NorthStar EMS ambulance were called out at about 1:15 p.m.. They met the boat and family at the boat ramp at the head of the pond.
McCleery was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
Thrasher said the accident was minor but the laceration needed medical attention.
The family is renting a camp on the pond.
