1953 – 2014

AUBURN — Glenn Alan Thomas, 60, of Lewiston and formerly of Bridgewater, Mass., died on June 2, at the Hospice House, after a period of failing health.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1953, a son of the late Gordon B. Thomas and Barbara A. (Barros) Wood. He was in the Class of 1972 at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School.

Glenn married Laurel Johannes and had a daughter, Melissa, and a son, Adam. Shortly after marrying, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Services Medal. He later transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve and earned a degree in computer programming, and did carpentry on the side.

Glenn liked road trips and went to Florida, California and New Mexico. His last road trip took him to Maine, where he settled and lived for the past 20 years. His last job was as a machine operator at Country Kitchen Bakery. He loved camping and the wildlife.

Glenn is survived by his sisters, Jean Ayers, Cynthia Barnes and Gail Jollymore, all of Bridgewater, Mass.; his companion, Kathleen Phalen, of Lewiston; his deceased stepfather, Roger C. Wood; and a half sister, Rebecca Moody, of Florida.
