He was born in Norway on May 18, 1949, a son of Leslie H. Scribner and Kathleen (Hammond) Scribner. He attended Oxford Hills High School and later served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

He married Kathryn Huotari on Sept. 21, 1970, in South Paris. Leslie made his living as a rigger working on construction jobs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Kathryn Scribner, of Fayette; his mother, Kathleen Hammond, of South Paris; siblings, Patricia Scribner of Skowhegan, Bernard Scribner and companion, Jacqui O’Brien, of South Paris, Roger Scribner and wife, Rhonda, of Sumner, Don Scribner of Lewiston, Cindy Scribner, NP, and husband, Dr. Larry Hopperstead, of Lewiston, Carol Hall and her husband, Neil, of Magalloway Plantation, Cathy Scribner of South Paris and Brian Scribner and his wife, Sharon, of West Paris; his aunts, Marion Cummings and husband, Bernal, of West Paris and Georgia Millett and husband, Linton, of Scarborough; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends who were like family — his hunting and fishing buddies, Al and Lisa Noyes.

Thank-you to Gary Welch for always being there when he called to help him with things around the house. Leslie had way too many friends to mention, but you know who you are and he was fortunate to have so many. He is already missed by his two faithful cats. A special thank-you to everyone who has helped and shown their support through the past two years of his illness.
