1947 – 2014

LEWISTON — Peter A. Gaworski, 67, of Colonial Gardens in Lisbon Falls, died Sunday afternoon, July 27, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a period of failing health due to complications from smoking.

Peter was born in Detroit, Mich., on April 24, 1947, a son of Leonard P. and Eleanor M. Gaworski. After graduating from Lisbon High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an AMH-2 with CVA-60, on the USS Saratoga in VF-31, “The Fighting 31.”

Upon Peter’s discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1969, he raised his family in Lisbon Falls. He graduated from Central Maine Vocational Technical College, with an associate degree in architectural and civil engineering technology. He worked as a construction superintendent for the Sheridan Corporation from 1972 until he retired in 2008.

Peter is survived by his daughter, Sharon and husband, Paul Holman, of Lisbon Falls; and two sons, Dennis of Lisbon Falls and Darick and wife, Jennifer, of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, James and wife, Susan, of New Gloucester; and sister, Lenore and husband, Marcel Charest, of Lisbon Falls; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
