Donations sought for Loaves fair

SABATTUS — Loaves & Fishes of Sabattus has announced that the weekly garage sales are over for this year.

Members are still accepting merchandise for its Christmas in October Fair that will take place on Oct. 3 and 4. Anyone wishing to donate goods for the fair can drop them off at the rear of the convent at 61 Lisbon Road on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until noon.

If these times are not convenient, call Marie at 740-0244 to make other arrangements.

Pomona plans ‘Go To Church’

MINOT — On Sunday, Aug. 3, Androscoggin Pomona will hold its annual Go To Church Sunday at the Minot Center Congregational Church on Center Minot Hill Road.

Members will gather at 8:45 a.m. for the 9 a.m. service.

After the service, members will hold a planning meeting for 2015. Members will then travel to Cyndi’s Dockside Restaurant on Route 26 in Poland at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on July 28 were as follows: first in A, B, C, Norma and Rick Verrill; second in A, B, C, Ellie and George Wigton; third in A, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; fourth in A, Larry Fortier and Luke Merry; fifth in A, third in B, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr.

Winners on July 29 were: first in A, B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second, Richard Balian and Les Buzzell; third, Martha Young and Dick Allen; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Patricia Quinn; second in B, first in C, Paul Clement and Larry Fortier.

The top masterpoint winners in July were: first, Richard Balian; second, Luke Merry; third, Fred Letourneau; fourth/fifth tie, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; sixth, Les Buzzell; seventh, Rick Verrill.
