Mental Health First Aid training
MEXICO — NAMI Maine will host a Mental Health First Aid training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at University Center, 13 Brown St.
The cost for this eight-hour training is $5, which includes a comprehensive training manual, lunch, customized resource guide, ongoing support from NAMI Maine and a three-year certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
Similar to Red Cross first aid, MHFA teaches participants how to respond to, and help, those experiencing mental health challenges.

Summer concerts at Mexico park
MEXICO — Summer concerts at the Mexico Recreation Park will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evenings through Sept. 1.
Bring a picnic supper, bug spray, blanket, folding chair and a friend or two and join your friends, neighbors and family for an evening of good ole traditional country music, bluegrass and gospel music.
L & L Country with Zach Hodge will be on stage every week, weather permitting.

Lawn sale at ‘Green Church’
MEXICO — There will be a lawn sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Mexico Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”), 163 Main St.
The sale will include household goods, books and good quality clothing. The Women’s Fellowship of the church will hold a bake sale in the conference room, with coffee available.
