AUBURN — Join Bing Crosby and Bob Hope for three exotic road trips in September with the showing of a few “Road To” movies at the Auburn Public Library. A different “road to” film will be shown at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 23, and 30.
On Sept. 16, join Hope on the “Road to Morocco.” In this zany film, two carefree castaways on a desert shore find an Arabian Nights city, where they compete for the luscious Princess Shalmar.
Join the outrageous duo on another zany trip on Sept. 23, this time to the country of Singapore. Crosby and Hope are two playboys trying to forget previous romances in Singapore — until they meet Dorothy Lamour.
Finally the road comes to an end on Sept. 30, with the showing of “The Road to Bali.” Having to leave Melbourne in a hurry to avoid various marriage proposals, two song-and-dance men sign on for work as divers. This takes them to an idyllic island on the way to Bali where they vie with each other for the favours of Princess Lala. The hazardous dive produces a chest of priceless jewels which arouses the less romantic interest of some shady locals.
