Livermore Falls firefighters cut a hole in the roof of John Brown’s house at 7 Oak St. after a lightning strike shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday. Brown was not home at the time. Neighbors said there was a loud noise and they saw the house on fire. Brown said he installed the new roof in the past couple of weeks. Jay Fire Department assisted firefighters.
