1926 – 2014
FARMINGTON — Margaret Collins, 88, a lifelong resident of Rangeley, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 8, at Orchard Park Living Center.
Margaret was born on June 24, 1926, in Oquossoc, a daughter of Earle and Dorothy (Bell) Fuller. She attended school in Rangeley and married her husband, Saul Collins, in 1942. Together, they shared 68 years of marriage.
In addition to operating the family gas business, Margaret was a lifelong member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rangeley, where she served as the organist and choir director.
She enjoyed traveling, reading and knitting, but above all, she was most happy in the company of her family.
Margaret is survived by three sons, Saul Collins Jr., Earle M. Collins and Geoff Robbins and his wife, Marci; three daughters, Joan Meade and her husband, Charlie, Judy Ellis and her husband, Rex, and Carole Kane and her husband, Gavin; 10 grandchildren, Lindsay McCabe, Courtney Ellis, Connor Kane, Caitlin Kane, Chelsea Kane, Sandy Maxey, Mike Meade, Jeff Collins, Jennifer Collins and Brandi Collins; and eight great-grandchildren, Wade, Hayley, Jake, Hanna, Katie, Lillian, Madison and Avery.
She was predeceased by her husband, Saul; sister, Bette Ladd; and two grandchildren, Chuck and Bruce Collins.
