1924 – 2014
GORHAM — Lucille C. Ulrickson, formerly of Flying Point Road in Freeport, passed away at Gorham House on Monday, Aug. 11, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 90 years old.
Lucille was born in Lewiston on April 15, 1924, to Dennis J. and Elizabeth C. Davis. She was the oldest of four children and attended Lewiston schools.
On Nov. 14, 1942, she married Roy Andrew Ulrickson at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston and moved to Freeport, where she lived for 60 years. Lucille was employed by The First National Store, Eastland Shoe Corp., and LL Bean, all in Freeport. She retired from LL Bean in October 1986.
Lucille is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Alward and Jeannette Bryer; her daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Joseph C. MacWilliams; her son, Roy Andrew Ulrickson Jr. and his wife, Christine Stevens Ulrickson; five grandchildren, Roy A. Ulrickson III, Patricia Muzikar, Peter Ulrickson, Jennifer Ettinger and Melissa MacWilliams; and six great-grandchildren, Roy Ulrickson IV, Thomas Ulrickson, Andrew Ettinger, Sarah Ettinger, Ellis Ulrickson and Sebastian Muzikar.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband of 53 years.
Lucille loved the outdoors and could often be found working in her vegetable and flower gardens, feeding the birds or taking a daily ride “around the loop” with her husband. Hobbies included playing the harmonica, spending time with her dogs and cats, knitting and hunting/fishing with her husband. She was an amazing pastry cook! She was also a member of Thomas Mean’s Club on Flying Point and an active member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Freeport.
Lucille will be remembered by all for her beautiful smile.
