As a life-long Democrat, I will be voting for Republican Eric Brakey because I know he cares about people.

Attendees of Community Little Theater remember Brakey from performances as Felix Ungar in “The Odd Couple,” Mortimer Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” and Brother Maynard in Monty Python’s “Spamalot.”

People don’t know the behind-the-scenes work Brakey does for CLT. He raised $5,000 for much-needed renovations to the building. As a volunteer, I know how appreciated that is.

Considering his successful experience acting in New York City, it is great to see that he is humble enough to roll-up his sleeves and do the hard work of fundraising and working for the community when he is not in his role as the star.

Through commitment, talent and hard work, Brakey has earned my vote.

Residents deserve to have Eric Brakey as the state senator for Auburn, Poland, New Gloucester, Mechanic Falls and Minot.
