PARIS — The McLaughlin Garden and Homestead will hold its annual auction on Saturday, Aug. 23. All proceeds from this live auction of trips and treasures will be used to continue the preservation of the historic garden, barn and houses.
The auction will take place in the barn at 97 Main St. Admission to the live auction is $40. This includes fine food, a drink, music and unlimited bidding opportunities. A cash bar will be available for additional beverages.
A partial list of auction items include a week in Paris, a trip to Scotland, a week in Marco Island, Fla., and a weekend at Maine’s Migis Lodge.
Unique items such as a pair of handcrafted Adirondack chairs made by El Paulhus of Otisfield, a Lee Barth quilt, a Susanne Hardy print, several hooked items from Parris House and a mixed media painting by local artist Linda Isham will go to the highest bidder.
Cross Jewelers has donated a piece inspired by the garden. Gardeners will enjoy a butterfly garden installed at their location. Right here in the Oxford Hills are a gift certificate to 76 Pleasant Street and an airplane ride to view fall foliage.
All items are being posted online so that everyone can have a chance to see what is available and start bidding now, even if they cannot attend Aug. 23. Interested bidders may also participate online at mclaughlingarden.wordpress.com.
