RUMFORD — Funeral services for Esley C. Thompson of Mexico were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., P.O. Box 537, Rumford, ME 04276, with the Rev. Anthony J. Rea officiating.
Music included “I Can Only Imagine” and special music selections included “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” sung by granddaughter, Tricia Blouin; “I Believe,” sung by friend and guitarist, Barry Wood; and “Go Rest High on the Mountain,” sung by son-in-law and guitarist, Joe Thibeault. The scripture reading was given by niece, Rhonda Shaw, who also read a poem she wrote and shared a few words of remembrance. The poem, “Don’t Cry for Me,” was read by the Rev. Rea. The eulogy was given by her son, Mark Thompson.
Committal services were conducted by the Rev. Rea and friends and guitarist, Barry Wood, sang “How Great Thou Art.” Interment was in Pineview Cemetery in Roxbury. A reception followed at the First Baptist Church in Mexico. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Troy and Dan Thibeault, Erin Hernandez, Brody Thompson, Pam Redstone and Lisa Rioux, and great-grandson, Travis Thibeault.
