LEWISTON — The Maine Health Science Libraries and Information Consortium has chosen Evelyn Greenlaw, head of the Lewiston-Auburn College Library at the University of Southern Maine, as recipient of the 2014 Eleanor C. Cairns Distinguished HSLIC Librarian Award.

HSLIC promotes health science libraries and librarianship, shares knowledge and experiences in library operations and resources, and provides continuing development of resource sharing within Maine.

Greenlaw has been with USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College since it opened in 1988. She has served as Head of Reference Services for USM (2005-2007), and has served in a number of HSLIC Board positions. She has served as HSLIC chair in 1980-1981 and 2010-11, and most recently as treasurer. Prior to the University of Southern Maine, she served as library director at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston from 1978-1988.
