FARMINGTON — A local woman is accused of assaulting a 5-year-old boy while she was babysitting him, Farmington police secretary Rachel Heseltine said, according to officer Ryan Wagner’s report.
Wagner and Sgt. Edward Hastings IV conducted an investigation after police received a referral from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
Wagner arrested Megan White, 22, of Farmington on a charge of felony assault and a charge of violation of condition of release.
A conviction on the assault charge carries up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
According to Wagner’s report, the boy was grabbed by his legs and pulled off the bed, which caused bruising on his face. He was then slapped, Heseltine said.
The violation of condition of release is related to an unrelated domestic violence-assault incident.
White was released Friday by Franklin County Superior Court on personal recognizance bail.
