Bringing Worlds Together for vets
FARMINGTON — “Bringing Worlds Together,” a free conference for military veterans, family/community members and service providers will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the University of Maine, Farmington.
Keynote speaker will be Kayla Williams, Arabic Linguist, Military Intelligence, who authored “Love My Rifle More Than You, Young and Female in the US Army” and “Plenty of Time When We Get Home, Love and Recovery in the Aftermath of War.”
Featured speaker will be Robert H. Moore, PhD, board-certified traumatologist.

Maine State Ballet offers fall workshops
FALMOUTH — It’s back to school time for Maine’s dancers of all ages as Maine State Ballet announces its fall dance classes, which will start the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
Classes range from a “Music and Movement” class for 3-year-olds to ballet or tap classes for adults. School-age dancers can choose classical ballet, tap, or jazz.

ANDOVER — The Stephens High School Class of 1952 lunch will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Little Red Hen. The day was wrong in Friday’s paper.
Ski Museum of Maine elects new officers
KINGFIELD — The Ski Museum of Maine has announced the election of new officers to its board of directors.
Leading the 16-member board are president, Jill Ducharme, Wayne; vice president, Wende Gray, Bethel; secretary, Russ Murley, Pownal; and treasurer, Vito Courtney, Freeport.
The Ski Museum of Maine is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established to preserve and publicize the business of skiing in Maine, while celebrating Maine’s ski history and heritage. Information is available online at www.skimuseumofmaine.org.
Association presents Early Stage Programs
SCARBOROUGH — The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, has announced the following upcoming Early Stage Social Engagement Programs for the week of Sept. 1:
Social Programs, Games and Lunch: classic board games followed by lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Social Programs, Seashore Trolley Museum Tour: On Thursday, Sept.r 4, visit of museum that celebrates the history of electric railway cars. Cost is $7.50 a person.
The program is open to those living with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their care partners. Advance registration for all programs is required.
