BOOTHBAY — Several British dignitaries will attend a discussion about climate change at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in Boothbay.

Topics for the Thursday, Sept. 4, meeting will include ocean acidification, carbon capture and storage, and hydraulic fracturing. British Council General to New England Susie Kitchens and British Embassy Counsellor for Global Issues Rosalind Campion will attend. U.S. Deputy Director for UK Science and Innovation Sarah Hokanson also will be there.

A spokeswoman for the laboratory says the event also will include representatives from other climate- and ocean-related institutions. College and university officials may also attend.
