JAY — The annual gathering of Wilton Academy graduates took place at LaFleur’s Restaurant recently. About a 100 people attended the social hour followed by lunch.

Spokesmen for the group were Thayden Farrington, Class of 1949, and Barry Therrien, Class of 1966.

The group agreed to meet next at 11 a.m. July 14, 2015, at the same restaurant.

Special speaker was Pam Scott Brown, Class of 1963, manager of the Wilton Farm and Home Museum. She discussed the many positive changes and displays available to the public at the museum, adjacent to the former Bass Shoe Co. in downtown Wilton.

Classes and number of members in each were: 1937, 1; 1943, 1; 1944, 1; 1945, 1; 1946, 2; 1948, 1; 1949, 6; 1950, 7; 1951, 8; 1952, 4; 1953, 7; 1954, 14; 1955, 2; 1956, 6; 1957, 2; 1958, 3; 1959, 2; 1960, 5; 1961, 1; 1963, 2; 1965, 2; and 1966, 5; visitors, 14.

Wilton became part of the former SAD 9 during the summer of 1966, although three more classes graduated from the Wilton building. The first combined class of students from the Farmington and Wilton areas graduated in 1970.
