OXFORD — The Oxford County Education Association – Retired is honored to announce the following recipients for the OCEA-R Scholarships for the Class of 2014.

Baylee Hatstat from Fryeburg Academy plans to attend Central Maine Community College to major in general studies while she decides which education path she will choose. She is the daughter of Chris and Lorrie Hatstat of Albany Township.

Anneliese Smith is from Telstar High School. She plans to attend either the University of Maine at Orono of the University of Southern Maine where she will study music education majoring in the trumpet. She is the daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Smith of Bethel.

Bryanne Starbird from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington or the University of Maine at Orono majoring in mathematics with a focus on secondary education. She is the daughter of Eric and Kimberly Starbird of Waterford.

Brittany Wakefield is from Mountain Valley High School. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington where she will major in early childhood education. She is the daughter of Joseph and Carmen DiConzo of Rumford.

Each year the OCEA-R awards four scholarships in the amount of $500 to four students who plan to enter the field of education. The recipients were chosen from an impressive group of applications.
