1925 – 2014
AUBURN — Pearl D. Forgues, 89, formerly of Oak Park Apartments in Lewiston, died Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her family by her side.
Born in Lewiston on March 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Antoine and Dorothy Coulombe Martel, she was educated in Lewiston schools. She was married to Joseph Lionel Forgues on May 4, 1946; he died on Feb. 24, 2002.
Pearl was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality. She worked at Custom Stitching, prior to her retirement in 1987.
She enjoyed family time, especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom will be remembered for the love she had for her family and her ability to make everybody laugh. We just never knew what she would have to say.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Dumais of Auburn and Irene Beauchesne and husband, Richard, of Lewiston; her son, Gerard R. Forgues and wife, Doris, of Turner; six grandchildren, Michael Dumais, Karen Ellingwood, Tina Dumais, Brian O’Connell, Stacy Angers and Chad Beauchesne; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Doris Rainville, of Auburn.
She was also predeceased by her sisters, Regina Shepard and Viola Hansler; and her brothers, Fernand and Roland Martel.
We would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Russell Park Manor, and for the last few days of her life, we would like to thank Dr. Austin and the staff at the Hospice House.
