TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education has announced its next session of classes. The following start the week of Sept. 15.
Dog Obedience: Train your dog to be well mannered and obedient. Understand the basic obedience commands like leash walking and behavior modification. Requirements include non-chain leashes, well-fitting collar and current rabies shots. Dog owner students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Tumbling: Tiny Tot is an intro to basic mat skills in a structured and fun environment emphasizing stretching, flexibility, strength, control and fun. Beginner to advanced classes are for cheerleaders, acrobats, gymnasts and others ages 6 to 18 wishing to enhance, improve and refine their tumbling skills.
Ballroom Dance: Ballroom is one of the hottest dance crazes in the U.S. It’s fun, romantic and a great form of exercise. At any social event, the sight of a great dancer moving to a captivating beat is simply irresistible, and now you too can step into that light with confidence. No partner or prior dance experience necessary.
Reiki I: This is an ancient healing art that channels energy through the hands to promote healing. You will learn hands-on methods for self-healing and receive a first degree attunement.
Beyond the Point and Shoot Camera: Learn the basic and advanced controls of a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera. Shooting modes, auto P.S.A., manual setting, white balance, continuous shooting, difficult shooting situations and uses for different lenses will be covered. Students need a digital single reflex camera and manual.
Welding: Whether you’re looking for a career as a welder or the skills to complete home welding projects, master the techniques in this class that will address individual needs. Beginning and advanced students can prepare for State Certification. This class may be taken for credit. Students need steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
Little Dragons Karate: The detailed curriculum focuses on improving basic motor and listening skills for ages 5-7. Your child will gain confidence and an enthusiastic outlook.
Self Defense for Women: This practical self-defense hands-on class teaches basic environmental awareness. Be prepared to have fun, learn essential self-defense skills and participate in drills.
