1924 – 2014

AUBURN — Rita Gabrielle Timberlake, 89, a resident of Lewiston and formerly of Livermore, died Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 8, 1924, a daughter of Albert and Jeanne (Pelletier) Moreau. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School.

On Feb. 6, 1949, she married Robert Timberlake in Turner. They made their home and raised their family in Livermore. Mr. Timberlake passed away on Sept. 24, 2008.

Rita was an avid crafter, enjoying an extensive list of crafts — too many to list. She was a charter member of the Village Scrappers since 1987, and a member of the Pine Tree Quilters. Rita was also a former Cub Scout den mother for several years.

She is survived by eight sons, Michael Timberlake and his wife, Judy, of Livermore, Dana Timberlake of Livermore, Kenneth “Sonny” Timberlake and his companion, Donna White, of Wilton, James Timberlake and his wife, Linda, of North Turner, Gary Timberlake of Lewiston, Brian Timberlake of Jay, William “Billy” Timberlake of Jay and Thomas Timberlake and fiancée, Jo-Ellen Bourgoin, of Canton; three sisters, Jacqueline LaMontagne of Ohio, Mariette Mercier of Lewiston and Venise Goyette of New Jersey; a son-in-law, Roger Roy, of Eustis; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Bonita “Bonnie” Roy, in 2007; her husband in 2008; and her sister, Madelyn Landry.
