INDUSTRY — Police said a man from Strong received minor injuries in a motorcycle accident on Route 148 around noon Tuesday.

Richard David, 62, was heading east toward Madison on the newly paved road. He approached the curve at the intersection with Sawyer Mill Road a little too fast, Maine State Trooper Keith Barton said.

David tried to slow down and drove onto the soft shoulder at the intersection with Sawyer Mill Road, a dirt road in West Mills near the Somerset County line. The bike went down.

David was treated at the scene by NorthStar ambulance personnel and taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

The 2012 Harley-Davidson he was riding was scratched, but did not appear to be seriously damaged in the incident.

Members of Industry Fire Department were first responders and helped David until police and the ambulance arrived.
