Historical Society meets Sept. 26
OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the Kay House.
After the meeting a drawing will be held for the quilt for which raffle tickets were sold throughout the summer.
The guest speaker will be Annette Vance Dorey. She will speak about her new book, “Maine Mothers Who Murdered, 1875-1925.” Her investigation revealed differences in the judicial system between men and women.
The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will follow.
Red Hat Mommas to meet Sept. 27
BETHEL — The Red Hat Mommas’ September gathering at Sunday River has been changed to Saturday, Sept. 27.
The group will leave the Marden’s parking lot at 10:30 a.m. and will have lunch at S. S. Milton’s in Bethel.
Running deer, clay pigeon shoot
OXFORD — A running deer and clay pigeon shoot will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game clubhouse, Payne Road.
