ALTON – You can learn the basics of mushroom identification from 1-5 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 4 at Hirundo Wildlife refuge.
State Mycologist Seanna Annis will lead the session, where you will learn the basics on how to use a mushroom identification key and search for mushrooms; reservations are requested by October 3. Meet at the Parker Reed shelter, which is located at Lac D’or, off Gate 1, which is located off Rte. 43. Suggested donations are $8 for adults, school-aged children are free.
