I write to enthusiastically endorse Dennise Whitley for state Representative in District 71.

I served in the Maine House in the 122nd, 123rd and 124th legislatures. As a member of the Health and Human Services (and later, the Appropriations Committee), I worked frequently with Whitley in her role as a public health advocate. She excelled at providing detailed information to legislators in an honest, respectful and understandable manner. There was never exaggeration or hyperbole with her. She was one of the more highly respected lobbyists that came before us.

Once elected, Whitley will hit the ground running. She acquired a valuable set of legislative and negotiating skills “under the Dome” that will serve her well as a future Representative. She will also provide enormous expertise in public health and health care.

Residents of Norway, West Paris, Waterford and Sweden should vote for Dennise Whitley on Nov. 4.

Elizabeth Miller, Somerville
