This is in response to Joan Wenzel, who wrote about Hobby Lobby, complaining because the owners would not make insurance available that would cover birth control (Sept. 24).

Their insurance does cover birth control. It does not, however, cover abortive drugs or abortions. That is not control; it’s in the Christian beliefs that abortion is the killing of a person. They are not preaching that a person cannot have an abortion; they just will not be a part of it and pay for it.

I am proud that, finally, people with Christian values are standing up for themselves. It seems that any moral company or business must bow down to those who oppose their view.

Those people who do not approve of the company don’t have to take their business there. If enough people don’t shop, the company will move on and, again, there will be an empty store in Lewiston-Auburn, with more people unemployed, going on welfare.

The cry is out there that there aren’t any jobs. Do people ever wonder why?

Holly Hobby has the reputation of being a good place to work in, and employees paid well.

I will gladly support the store when it opens.

In answer to Wenzel’s question as to what kind of hobby it is — it’s the kind that values life for everyone.
