1927 – 2014

LEWISTON — Alexander B. Dion, 87, died and went home to be with his Lord savior on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston surrounded by his loving family.

Alexander was born on June 4, 1927, in St. Henedine, Quebec, a son of Eloi and Marie Ange (Pomerleau) Dion. Alexander grew up with nine siblings, and he moved to the United States in 1956. On May 27, 1957, he married the love of his life, Pauline (Castonguay), and together they shared 57 years of marriage.

Alexander had numerous passions in life, but his one true love and devotion was his faith in the Lord. As the biblical patriarch of his family, he enjoyed spreading the good word of the Lord and helping people create a relationship with God. He was an active member of the Fayette Baptist Church for more than 30 years.

In addition to his strong bond with God, he took great pride in his community. Alexander was a pillar in building the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope in Jay, and he thoroughly enjoyed watching his children and the community ski.

He was employed at International Paper for more than 30 years.
