The column’s guidelines prohibit her announcing any event unless there is a specific request, such as a search for people or things.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: There was a vendor at the Yarmouth clam festival with two troughs set up to paint your own silk scarf. I watched a little girl create a masterpiece and now wish I had gotten a card.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Turner Center Universalist Church is having a craft fair and white elephant sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 8. We are located on Route 117 in Turner Center across from the Leavitt Institute building.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Nezinscot Valley holiday fair will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Buckfield Junior/Senior High School.

There will be live music throughout the day, complimentary coffee in the morning and lunch options available.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The University of Maine at Farmington’s annual arts and crafts show is seeking artists and crafters from across Maine interested in exhibiting their original and creative work at this open-to-the-public show.

This year’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in the UMF Olsen Student Center on South Street in Farmington.
