1926 – 2014

LEWISTON — Lorraine T. Philippon, 88, of 23 Spofford St., Lewiston died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 2, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Born in Lewiston on May 13, 1926, she was the daughter of Albert and Albertha Ouellette Tremblay. Educated in local schools, she married Ange J. Philippon on Sept. 16, 1944. They spent 57 loving years together, until Ange’s passing in 2002. For many of those years they co-owned and operated the T.J. Murphy Fur Company in Lewiston.

Family was everything to Lorraine, and she especially loved spending time with her sister and best friend, Connie. Known for her elegance and sense of style, she was always impeccably dressed no matter the occasion. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to the Lewiston and Holy Cross Seniors and was a member of the Patronesses of St. Mary’s Hospital.

Survivors include a sister, Constance Robert and husband, Joseph, of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Tina Corliss of St. Albans; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Edwards, and Dakota, Shianna and Emma Corliss; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Daggett; and a sister, Priscilla Doyon.
