1941 – 2014

STRONG— Dennis Eugene Lowe Jr., 72, of Strong, died Thursday, Oct. 9, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis was born in Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 15, 1941, a son of Dennis E. Lowe Sr. and Phyllis Regina Skotsky Lowe McCue. He lived in Virginia until joining the U.S. Marine Corps, in which he served for 11 years from 1958 to 1969, serving twice in Vietnam and a tour in Booknadell, North Africa.

He moved to Milltown, N.J., in 1969. Dennis worked for Reynolds Aluminum of Woodbridge, N.J.; Helm Tobacco of Helmetta, N.J.; and Airport Distribution Solution of Newark and Hillside, N.J. Dennis was a member of the Milltown Fire Department, Hose Company, the Relief Association, New Jersey State Firemen’s Association and Exempt Firemen’s Association.

He moved to Maine with his wife, Laura (Froehlke) Lowe, in 2004 to fulfill a dream to live in the beauty and serenity of the rural mountains. Dennis had a sense of humor like no other and will be missed greatly.
