Dozens of River Valley residents participated in a Domestic Violence Awareness Walk on Wednesday evening at Hosmer Field in Rumford. It was organized by Safe Voices and the Rumford Police Department. Police Chief Stacy Carter said, “In the three years that I’ve helped organize the event, this is the highest amount of participation I’ve seen.” Carter also urged residents to be aware of domestic violence “all year, not just during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.”
