I am writing this letter in support of Elaine Makas as a county commissioner representing part of Lewiston. A new county charter was approved that increased the number of commissioners from three to seven, giving the residents of Lewiston a more equitable voice in county affairs.
She has always been the strongest advocate on the commission for all the county employees. And even though she has supported the needs of all the towns in the county, she is particularly dedicated to making sure that the people of Lewiston have forceful representation on the commission.
I am very much aware of her commitment to both the county employees and the people of Lewiston, since I was a county employee and personally witnessed that dedication.
I support Elaine Makas for re-election on Nov. 4.
