PORTLAND (AP) — Maine is off to the foxes.

The state’s annual fox hunt begins on Monday. The season does not include a daily bag limit or a possession limit. It is legal to hunt foxes in Maine until Feb. 28.

The fox hunting season begins on the same day as the seasons for skunks and opossums. Those seasons also have no bag limits and last until Dec. 31.

Maine’s hunting seasons for raccoons, snowshoe hares, gray squirrels, turkeys, pheasants, ruffed grouse and bobwhite quail began earlier this month.
