WOODSTOCK — Updates on a Department of Environmental Protection application and the sale of a ladder truck are on the agenda for the selectmen meeting Tuesday, Oct. 21.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at the Town Office.
Town Manager Vern Maxfield said the Department of Environmental Protection inspected the Lake Christopher dam and determined that 300 square feet of 10-inch rocks placed around the dam “were not a part of the original permit.”
“Jim Sysko, our engineer for the project, said that he felt it was necessary to put those rocks in, since the water around the Lake Christopher Dam is a high wave area,” Maxfield said. “When the DEP sent in their people to look at it, they said that the rocks were not in the permit and didn’t meet the specs, which means we would have to fill out a whole new permit.”
In other business, the Fire Department will announce it sold its old ladder truck for scrap material.
The board voted in September to allow the department to purchase a $49,900 firetruck from a fire department in Canton, Mass.
The Woodstock department’s old ladder truck was replaced after it was discovered repairs were needed to the turntable gears, which allow the ladder’s platform to rotate.
