LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen asked the town manager Tuesday to draft a letter to Devon Bohacik congratulating him on being elected vice president of his class at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

Bohacik of Leeds has been a patrolman with the Livermore Falls Police Department for about a year. He is enrolled in an 18-week basic law enforcement training program at the academy in Vassalboro.

Town Manager Kristal Flagg read an email that John Rogers, director of the academy, sent to police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. on Oct. 8.

“The election of officer Devon Bohacik by his peers indicates special leadership ability. This reflects upon officer Devon Bohacik, as well as the Livermore Falls Police Department,” Rogers wrote.

“Congratulations on the fine caliber of officer the Livermore Falls Police Department has entrusted the responsibility of providing law enforcement services,” he wrote.
