Mary Fernandes, candidate for House District 66, is a breath of fresh air — something that the public needs more of in Augusta.

She cares deeply about people and the issues that are most important to them — health care, education and property taxes. She will work hard to do right by her constituents. She listens.

Her upbeat, positive outlook, combined with her work and life experiences, will ensure that she represents her constituents well.

As a veteran teacher and a Maine Education Association leader, I have been dismayed by many recent decisions made in Augusta that have not been supportive of Maine’s public schools. I am confident that Fernandes will work hard with her fellow legislators, no matter their political party, to find the best solutions.

I support Mary Fernandes for election on Nov. 4.

Grace Leavitt, vice president

Maine Education Association, Raymond
