SUMNER — Selectmen on Tuesday reviewed a bid invitation for a 6-foot-diameter culvert on Redding Road.

Road Committee Chairman George Jones said the culvert is for the West Branch of the Nezinscot River. He stressed that the board make sure the bids meet the specifications.

Bids are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, and a performance bond will be required.

Jones said the road would remain open during construction.

In other business:

* The board discussed a discrepancy in the sand contract, which says on one page the sand should be three-eighths of an inch and on another page says it should be half an inch. Lucas Enterprises of Buckfield has the sand contract.

* The board agreed to have an electrician fix the outside light at the Town Office and pay for it with its discretionary fund.

* Clerk Susan Runes said polls will be from 8 a.m until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.

* She also announced that Santa Claus will be at the Town Office from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 13.
