Voters have a special opportunity to elect a candidate who can overcome the gridlock, the partisanship and the divisiveness that has charted Maine on the wrong course for some many years.
There is an opportunity to elect a candidate who has the business, legal and political experience necessary to facilitate a robust and prosperous 21st century economy that restores a substantial equality of opportunity to all Mainers who want a fair shot at living the American Dream.
That candidate is independent Eliot Cutler.
In the debates, Cutler demonstrated how deeply he cares about the state of Maine. While LePage and Michaud were squabbling and bickering, Cutler was talking about his plan for education reform and a vision that included reducing the barriers to higher education, so that all Mainers had a fighting chance to succeed in the 21st century and restore Maine as a state of opportunity.
