I am not one to write letters, but to endorse Eric Samson for sheriff, I will write this one. I do this for three reasons:
First, as a long-time leader within the department, he is uniquely qualified in every aspect of office operations and has managed those operations with respect, dignity and intelligence. His vision for the department and the services to be delivered to the communities is unmatched by his opponents.
Second, as a fellow City Councilor in Auburn, he was a key person for collaboration and solutions that helped fellow taxpayers with their struggles, while keeping a close eye on fairness and delivery of services.
Lastly, as a person, he conducts himself in the tradition of his father and family for being there for others and making a difference in their lives.
It is time to recognize Eric Samson for sheriff.
