AUBURN — Auburn-based developer George Schott is proposing a four-story, 120-room hotel in Augusta.
The Kennebec Journal has reported that the project will cost $12 million and be developed by Schott and Florida-based Ocean Properties. The two also developed the Residence Inn Marriott in Auburn near a number of Schott’s other developments.
The hotel is expected to be a Homewood Suites, a Hilton Worldwide brand, which specializes in extended-stay guests.
The hotel, which would be visible from Interstate 95 on Western Avenue, could be under construction by next spring and open for business a year later.
