LIVERMORE — New Town Office hours go into effect Monday.

Residents took a survey on five different scenarios for office hours, and Tuesday was the last day to respond.

There were 324 surveys submitted, Town Clerk Renda Guild said Wednesday.

Residents chose option two, which proposed the Town Office would be closed on Wednesdays, but open at 8 a.m. on the other four weekdays.

Town Office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.

The town’s auditor has recommended that the office staff compile state reports and other reports for the first 30 minutes of each day, Guild said.

Staff will be there at 8 a.m. on the four open weekdays, so if a resident has an emergency, staff members will be available to do whatever is needed, she said.

It has been recommended for many years that the town implement either a later start time or an earlier close to allow the reports to get done, she said.

This will allow the staff to work on reports without working overtime.

“We chose the beginning (of the day) as it is not as busy and do not want to take away from the residents,” Guild said.
