Mooney

RUMFORD — The wedding of Deidre Gilbert and Patrick Mooney was held at 1 p.m. on June 7 at Parish of the Holy Savior in Rumford. The Rev. Greg Dube, pastor, officiated at the ceremony. The wedding had the theme of baseball.

Mrs. Mooney is the daughter of Douglas and Donna Gilbert of Dixfield. Mr. Mooney is the son of John and Deborah Mooney of Peru.

The bride wore a satin gown with elaborately embroidered lace, with crystal beading and semi-Cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea, white roses and white peonies.

Sara Gilbert, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Gilbert, sister-in-law, Michelle Gilbert, sister-in-law, Abbey Gilbert, cousin of the bride, and Ryanne Prevost and Christina Lacroix, friends. Madeleine Gilbert, niece, was flower girl.

Nick Perry, friend, performed the duties of best man. Ushers were Peter Gilbert and Derrick Gilbert, brothers-in-law, and Mike Thurston, Ryan McCaffrey and Jeremy Cormier, friends.

A reception followed at Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford, after which the couple traveled to Phoenix, Ariz. They are residing in Rumford.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Dirigo High School and is attending the University of Maine at Augusta, studying special education. She is employed at Dirigo Elementary School in Peru.

The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is currently employed at Dirigo High School in Dixfield.
