FARMINGTON — Campus police at the University of Maine at Farmington are investigating last week’s car burglaries in the Prescott Street parking lot.
On Friday, two students reported their vehicles had been burglarized in UMF Lot 22 on Prescott St., officer Scott Jennings said Monday.
These burglaries occurred sometime between the morning of Monday, Nov. 3, and the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 7, he said.
Another possible burglary was discovered Friday afternoon by a UMF officer. The owner of the vehicle stated no items were missing, but one of the vehicle doors was found partly open.
Items taken from the vehicles include an iPod, a silver necklace and a silver ring.
Two of the vehicles were believed to be unlocked at the time of the burglaries, and the other vehicle sustained damage to its rear lift gate from possible forced entry.
There have been no other reports of missing items or damaged vehicles from other possible burglaries, he said of a notice posted on the campus police Facebook page alerting students to the burglaries and advising them to lock their cars.
