Girl Scout Daisy Troop 2100 last week made cards and banners to send to the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris in honor of Veterans Day. The Scouts wanted all Veterans to know that we love them and want to thank them for being so brave.

We talked about the importance of these men and women both historically as well as how their service and sacrifice effects our every day life. We talked about the importance of Veterans Day and how it gives us all the opportunity to remember and honor these brave men and women for their bravery and selflessness.

We talked about the service men and women we have in our families who are currently on active duty and the veterans in our families who have served in the past. We discussed words we could use to describe these special men and women and it was during this discussion that they began to draw parallels between the words we were using to describe our Veterans and words that describe us as Girl Scouts:
