1944 – 2014

LEWISTON — Robert J. Alimandi, 70, of Lewiston passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 12, with his family by his side.

He was born in Rumford on Jan. 15, 1944, the son of Menjol and Arthimice (Belanger) Alimandi. He attended schools in Rumford and was a graduate of Rumford High School.

Robert worked for most of his life in various shoe shops in the Lewiston-Auburn area and later at Dingley Press for a couple of years.

Robert loved fishing, hunting and woodworking, but most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

Robert is survived by his wife Josie (Smith) Alimandi, whom he married on July 10, 1979; his daughters, Tammy Noyes and husband, David, and Angel Oliveira and husband, Fabricio, all of Lewiston; his sister, Cynthia Ayotte and companion, Rene, of Auburn; and by several grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and his twin brother, Richard Alimandi.
