1942 – 2014

LEWISTON — Irene Caroline Nagy, a resident of Biron Avenue in Lewiston, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 72 years of age, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family following a series of acute medical issues.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 17, 1942, a daughter of George and Beatrice (Bartley) Hart.

She was the loving wife of a career naval officer, enjoyed traveling and truly celebrated life. She enjoyed summers in Jackman. Irene took great pride in her culinary skills and was honored to have her cooking articles published.

Her devotion to her children was evident as she volunteered countless hours to youth sports programs. She was selfless and generous to a fault.

Irene is survived by her husband and soul mate of 48 years, Francis Nagy Sr.; three children, Francis Jr., Sylvia and Victoria; six grandchildren; and five siblings.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister.

She will be sadly missed.
